March 25, 2015 — A review of Blue Bell Ice Cream items connected with cases of foodborne ailment has been expanded to incorporate items from the company’s plant in Broken Arrow, Okla.
The initial recall included 10 products delivered at Blue Bell’s plant in Brenham, Texas. The extended review includes three flavors — chocolate, strawberry and vanilla — of three-ounce mugs of ice cream made at the Oklahoma plant, the Related Press reported.
One of the glasses was found to be contaminated with listeriosis. The glasses are not sold in retail stores, but are sold to teach in 23 states.
The starting review was reported after five people who had been patients at Via Christi St. Francis healing center in Wichita, Kan., became sick with listeriosis, and three of them passed on, the AP detailed.
